Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior

The boat is equipped with 3/4 cabins and 431 liters (113 US gallons, 94 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity.

Rig

The Nautitech 40 Open is built with a fractional rig. The sail area for the mailsail + jib is 91.0 m2 (979.5 ft2). A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. The downside is that having the wind from behind often requires a gennaker or a spinnaker for optimal speed.

Keel

Unknown keel type

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.35 - 1.45 meter (4.43 - 4.73 ft) dependent on the load.

Engine

The fuel tank has a capacity of 430 liters (113 US gallons, 94 imperial gallons).

Nautitech 40 Open may be equipped with dual inboard Volvo Penta engines at 20 hp (14 kW).

The transmission is a saildrive.
