Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior

The boat is equipped with 6 cabins, 14 berths and 1049 liters (277 US gallons, 230 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity.

Rig

The Sanya 57 is built with a fractional rig. The sail area for the mailsail + jib is 175.0 m2 (1,883.7 ft2). A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. The downside is that having the wind from behind often requires a gennaker or a spinnaker for optimal speed.

Keel

Bilge keel

The Sanya 57 is built with a bilge keel. A bilge keel is a twin keel, which allows the boat to be beached. Bilge keels are the most popular keel for tidal waters.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.40 - 1.50 meter (4.59 - 4.89 ft) dependent on the load.
