Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior

The boat is equipped with 6 cabins, 10 berths, a galley, 745 liters (196 US gallons, 163 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity and toilet facility.

Rig

The Bahia 46 is built with a fractional rig. A fractional rig has smaller headsails which make tacking easier, which is an advantage for cruisers and racers, of course. The downside is that having the wind from behind often requires a gennaker or a spinnaker for optimal speed.

Keel

The Bahia 46 is built with a bilge keel. A bilge keel is a twin keel, which allows the boat to be beached. Bilge keels are the most popular keel for tidal waters.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.30 - 1.40 meter (4.27 - 4.57 ft) dependent on the load.

Engine

The fuel tank has a capacity of 401 liters (105 US gallons, 88 imperial gallons).

Bahia 46 may be equipped with dual inboard Yanmar diesel engines at 76 hp (56 kW).
